SD: How did you come up with the idea for Supersweet.org? Why did you choose to create this site? How did Supersweet start, and how did it evolve over time?
Choltida Pekanan: SUPERSWEET was originally started in Thailand by my then partner Note who runs a very popular [club] night called Dudesweet[more information about DudeSweet here] and me. It was meant to be a supplement fanzine for the night but then turned into a printed magazine. At the same time I started the website in English and Thai so we could keep doing more current things like album and gig reviews in London. Eventually we called it a day for the hard copy and the London team continues on. That's when we had the big revamp for the site in 2007. Now we have the visual and editorial directions we've always wanted.
SD: Some of the main topics of interest on your site are Music, Fashion, Art, Television, and Games. Do you feel that all of these topics are somewhat related, or influence each other? Why or why not? How did you decide to focus on these 5 topics?
CP: Of course they do, I've always been interested in people's lifestyle but everyone's different so I mold it around my friends' and mine [lifestyle]. I thought these were wide enough topics for me to cover our interests, our everyday things from a voyeuristic and appreciative approach.

SD: How do you scout content for Supersweet? Is there something specific that you look for, and what is it?
CP: All the writers and photographers are encouraged to pitch for article ideas and take on projects that they love to do. Nothing's contrived here, we all have fun doing it and you can tell. Even with bands, they have their own ideas to come up with things, like say a cookery show or a mini school play for the TV section.
SD: What are you goals for Supersweet.org?
CP: Perhaps I shouldn't be so honest, but I don't have one. If we're approach[ed] for a business loan, I'll think of one then. This doesn't mean we don't have directions, but nothing should ever restrict what we want to and can do with it. I feel that if we're focusing on achieving that goal, we'll never take time to notice the other possibilities. I like to leave room for fate and good accidents.

SD: Do you have any advice for people who want to break into the music/fashion/art/television/gaming industries?
CP: It's all one creative industry to me, you can always jump from one to another, so I have a general one - do listen to people's advice against something, but you should always try it anyway as long as it's not deadly, you need to find out for yourself. It sounds stupid, but it's always more valuable in the long run when you learn things the hard way.
SD: And finally, are you doing what you love to do?
CP: Absolutely, SUPERSWEET is THE excuse to do what I love to do, full stop!

Supersweet is definitely a unique site, and i've yet to come across a site that blends Music, Fashion, Art, Television, and Gaming. Quoting the assistant editor who first emailed me, this site is definitely, "[. . . ]a place for the extraordinary, the strange and the ambiguous, the fabulous, the ugly and the downright weird[. . .]". Which may have just been what attracted me to the site in the first place. Because I definitely feel that fashion is exactly how she describes the site. I definitely encourage anyone and everyone to check out the site because I definitely feel that there is something for everyone: Supersweet.org
