Rick Owens Fall 2009 (Paris)

Rick Owens collection this season would have to be one of my favorites out of Paris. I really liked the futuristic, geometric, ice princess look of it all. I think Rick Owens himself explains it best: "It started off dark, but then…they blossomed into swans." Every piece intrueged me, and gave me a huge desire to see these pieces in person. I liked most every piece, from the high necked jackets to the thigh high fishing boot inspired shoes.
---
I would have been fine if the whole collection had been black on black like the first 8 looks, but then Owens pulled out the last 28 icy white looks and i fell over and cried of the amazing-ness.

-----
This collection seemed to really have a strong feminine warrior appeal to it. It reminded me of Princess Lea of Star Wars. A princess, yes, but not afraid to take charge and control. It just seemed to me something a Joan of Arc of the 21st century would wear. A woman who's preparing for an apocalyptic war maybe?

Rick Owens is nothing short of genius - I haven't yet looked at the collection properly, but I'm going to be right now. Great post.
