This can be That

When i first started reading fashion blogs, I mainly read Fashion Robot, and Style Rookie, mostly because they were young, and I could relate to them more. Something that I noticed from both their blogs is the use of what they already had, to create a desired effect, as well as a little innovation, to create something new. Case in point, Tavi's, of Style Rookie, use of a tape measure as a belt, she says she got the idea from perusing the blog Nice and Shiny:

and Stephanie's, of Fashion Robot, backwards racerback(<--that just became my new fav. word) tank:

as time went on and i began to explore other blogs, I started to notice a trend of bloggers using pieces of clothing that they already own in a new way to create a completely different look. One of my personal favorites, Jennine, of The Coveted, using gaucho pants to create an interesting, and unique, one shoulder dress:

moral of the story? You don't have to be loaded to have one of a kind pieces of clothing, just take what you already have and use your imagination, you could likely come up with something that's both unique, and totally new. and considering the current state of our economy, a little imagination could save you some cash.

It's such a good point, its not what you have but how you work it. After Jennine wore the gauchos I tried that with mine - lol they were NOT big enough! :-)

i definitly agree w/you eyeliah
it really is about how you work it
i always see tons of people wearing amazing, or somewhat different, things
but it's undercut by the person's lack of confidence in what they are wearing
